About Ware Construction
Ware Construction was established by Director Chris Ware in 2010 and is now one of the leading independent builders on Exmoor.
Situated in the village of Skilgate on the edge the Exmoor National Park, Ware Construction specialise in renovation and new build within Exmoor, Somerset, North Devon and the surrounding areas.
Chris along with the dedicated team work hard to deliver excellent client satisfaction from the first consultation to the finished product.
Ware Construction has the ability and resources to undertake all types of construction work, including complex refurbishment in occupied and unoccupied premises, extensive new builds in modern and traditional styles, extensions to occupied buildings, Industrial and Commercial units, and Farms.

DIRECTOR
CHRIS WARE
Chris is the director of Ware Construction and a carpenter by trade. After serving his apprenticeship with a local building firm, he took the opportunity to form Ware Construction in 2010 and has since grown the company to become one of the largest construction firms on Exmoor. Chris has a hands-on approach to the business and as well as dealing with the initial pricing and quoting of the projects, can often be found on site liaising with the contracts managers to ensure the project is running smoothly, on time and on budget. Chris also looks after the initial site meeting and can offer advice on any queries you may have to ensure a full understanding of how we work from conception to completion. In his spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife Jane and their three young children.
Operations Co-Ordinator
JOHN McGRATH
John will often be your first point of contact with Ware Construction as he oversees the majority of our office work including sourcing materials, Health and Safety processes, dealing with the works programming, building control and ensuring the smooth day to day running of the business. He has recently joined the company after spending 25years in the Asbestos Industry and also assists Chris in the running of our sister company, Ware Developments, dealing with current and forthcoming sites. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his wife and family and is a keen rugby follower.
Contract Manager
TIM BERKS
Having spent his working life with another local building firm, in 2018 the opportunity arose to join Ware Construction due to the continued expansion of the firm. Tim deals with all aspects of building from new build to extensions and renovations. Most recently he has been working on a bespoke new build project in Porlock as well as overseeing a number of refurbishment projects on behalf of the National Trust. Outside of work Tim enjoys spending time with his family and indulging in his favourite pastime of clay pigeon shooting.

ERIN LINNEY
Erin is Ware Construction's latest contracts manager and joined the firm in April 2019. Erin, who was born and raised in Minehead, started his construction career at 16 with an apprenticeship at a local building firm. From here he progressed into site management and is currently studying for his NVQ in Construction Management. He spent three years working for a high-end property developer in Bristol before the opportunity arose to join Ware Construction. Outside of the office Erin enjoys mountain biking and spending time with his partner and their two young boys.

FRANK WALSH
Frank joined Ware Construction in 2017 having spent 30+ years working for a large housing developer in the South West. Frank has a hands-on approach to his work and he will often be found on site mucking in where needs be! Frank specialises in overseeing the Ware Developments contracts alongside other Ware Construction work and also takes a keen interest in our commercial work. In his spare time, he enjoys watching rugby and spending time with family back in Ireland when the time allows it!
Accounts Manager
RICHARD HAWKINS
Having joined Ware Construction from a firm of chartered accountants in Taunton, Richard now oversees the accounting side of the business and is available to deal with any financial queries you may have. Richard also deals with the financial side of our sister companies, Joinery Barn, who produce a fantastic range of bespoke joinery including, windows, doors, staircases and fitted furniture, and Ware Developments. Richard enjoys spending time with his wife and young son in his spare time as well as helping out on the family farm on Exmoor.
